when the average guy hears that the icecaps on Mars are also melting and then he hears Al say it is because of Co2 emissions from internal combustion engines, he tends to think Al does not have a full deck.

I'm afraid the average guy (and girl) gets his news from the MSM, and hears only the massive propaganda deluge from the global waming quacks.
