“CA suffers from Jerrymandering, creating a practical one party dictatorship. This has resulted in an unbalanced and undemocratic political process here.”

In an earlier post, elkgrovedan said liberalism was a national problem. I also believe the emergence of one party is a national problem as well.

How different is a democrat from a republican? Mostly, they seem to work together to destroy America from within.
Amnesty. Gun control. Free trade. SPP. Both sides are working to make these things happen. Some of the worst offenders in this regard are republicans. McCain and Bush for example, regarding immigration. Guiliani was mixed up in gun control. I believe all but a very select few are dirty with trade votes.

California does have it’s share of insane leaders and voters, but this evil is widespread and may not be stoppable at this point. California is but one breeding ground, not the sole source of this madness.

Money is not the root of all evil, love of money is. Most of them, no matter what side they’re on, will sell anyone here for a few more dollars or votes, with no regard for the long-term disasters they are creating or have already created.

And they do pick the voters. If they can’t get enough of them from inside the country, they do everything they can to import them.

My dad was in the Navy. I've lived in San Diego, Honolulu, Federal Way, WA and Springfield, VA. Even though I'm a native Californian, I really enjoy snow in the winter and a dry summer with little humidity. Long summer days with a very late sunset are also things I enjoyed from the Federal Way experience. Idaho has all those features. I dislike sitting in heavy traffic and waiting in long lines at stores and restaurants. There is little traffic and a sparse population here. I wanted a big house with basement. That is standard procedure around Pocatello. I really enjoy my firearms. I have lots of them. Idaho law is firearm friendly. I relocated for a long list of reasons.

Not everything is better. Medical services are pretty limited in the area. There is a bit more wind than I had anticipated. The ham radio community is much smaller. There aren't enough big bookstores. The variety of restaurants doesn't come close to San Diego. Most of those things are just annoying. Mail order and patience solves some of it.
