Not sure what Pat B. has to do with anything. I was agreeing with you that winning NH does not automatically translate into winning the general election.
In any case, my comments about Bush almost not winning was in regards to the general election. Sorry, I skipped over the primaries.

I think his approach is refreshing as well. The stupid and ridiculous rituals surrounding the early primaries like the pancake flipping and putting in face time with the Butter Queen need to be ditched. This is serious business and doesn't need to be treated like a state fair.
If this means that poor little New Hampshire loses some tourism dollars, tough. McCain's landslide victory over Bush in 2000 should be enough to show that New Hampshire isn't the bellwether state that it used to be, especially among Republicans.

No, what’s amazing is how poor the field was for conservatives that Fred managed to jump into the top 3 with little no campaigning. He’s spent little to no campaign money in Iowa, but already he’s number 2, where Mitt has basically bought the state for around $30 million.
Little or no campaigning? What? Fred Thompson has been campaigning for this job for years as an actor in movies and as Arthur Branch on Law & Order.
Guess it’s a little tougher than being an actor, though.

resting up for another fight
And since when, as President, do you get to 'rest up for another fight'? It's a demanding job that requires 24/7 attention. People are going to be asking if he's up the the challenge.
If he IS serious about becoming President, he needs to get in there and mix it up aggressively. First impressions are lasting, and a lot of people are perceiving Fred as a less-than-serious candidate.

You bet I want to beat Mrs. Bill Clinton.
That's why I support Fred Thompson and not a candidate that sticks his finger in the air ...just like Mrs. Bill Clinton does... to form his positions for that day.
What's amazing and ridiculous at the same time is you Mitt-mutts indirectly asserting that Fred and his doctors are lying to the voters. Pardon me if I believe them and not you.

Self clarification; I was referring to McCain's landslide victory over Bush
in New Hampshire.
2000 New Hampshire totals:
McCain, John 115,606 49%
Bush, George 72,330 30%

It’s going to be painful as the truth slowly dawns. Thompson isn’t putting out the effort or raising the level of funds needed to maintain his standing in the polls. He will not be able to coast by on name recognition and star power and he is not the great hope he has been billed as.
All these ‘he’s waiting, it’s part of the plan, just you wait’ excuses will wear thin soon, then turn to questions like yours, then turn to the realization that Fred isn’t that they thought or wanted, then turn to anger at being mislead.

The beauty of being a Mittwitt is never having to back up anything.
They can always fall back on ignorance as a defense. After all they have bought the idea that Mitt is a life long Conservative, so the evidence is in their favor...

The man looks like half a corpse already. There just isnt any way in the world he could take on a normal campaign schedule.

Some will wake up see Romney is the real thing!
Some will have to eat crow if they are honest that Romney is not a Rino!
Some will come to learn the meaning of Justice and Mercy does not belong to Liberal or Conservative but comes from a place of striving to do the right thing!
