Doom if Saint Al loses carbs (Mark Steyn)
The Australian ^ | October 15, 2007 | Mark Steyn

Posted on 10/15/2007 12:22:06 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

A COUPLE of days before Al Gore was awarded his Nobel Peace prize, Michael Burton, an English High Court judge and apparently a fine film critic, ruled that Al's Oscar-winner An Inconvenient Truth was prone to "alarmism and exaggeration" and identified nine major factual errors.

For example, the former vice-president predicts a rise in sea levels of 6m "in the near future". "The Armageddon scenario he predicts," declared Burton, "is not in line with the scientific consensus."

I'll say. The so-called scientific consensus of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change suggests rising sea levels across the next century of somewhere between 15cm and 60cm, with about 30cm being most likely. An Inconvenient Truth insouciantly adds a zero to the worst-case scenario.

And nobody minds. His Honour was examining the vice-president's acclaimed crockumentary because the British Government, in its wisdom, has decided to force-feed it to hundreds of thousands of schoolchildren. It would be nice to think it would have to be preceded by a warning that any resemblance between this film and any actual planet living or dead is entirely coincidental, but it seems more likely that the Nobel Peace imprimatur will completely insulate the picture from even the most modest quibbles.

A schoolkid in Ontario was complaining the other day that, whatever subject you do, you have to sit through Gore's movie: It turns up in biology class, in geography, in physics, in history, in English.

Whatever you're studying, it's all you need to know. It fulfils the same role in the schoolhouses of the guilt-ridden developed world that the Koran does in Pakistani madrassas.(continued)

Here's a link to a thread with a cartoon about Al Gore and his Nobel* Prize you may want to ping the list to. It's very good.

Meanwhile, Gore is now being urged to jump into the presidential race and save Democrats from the allegedly too-hawkish Hillary Clinton. I doubt he will.

I hope he does. It'll dilute the pathetic lineup of Democrats even further. He'll siphon votes away from Hillary, and Americans won't elect him because we don't root for losers.

If today's Nobel Committee was around in the 1930's Hitler would be nominated for the Peace Prize and Josef Mengele would be nominated for medicine.

Mark Steyn is the best.

I sure do hope he snaps and soon. So far he is the one world enviro-fascists most effective shill. The science on Global Warming is clear. It exists, and it is NOT “man made”.

However, Gore, Hollywood, the U.N. and the public school system in every pro UN country in the world have Gore’s demonstrably false and harmful propaganda on their agenda, and refuse to back off or correct it. They all say “it’s time to act, the argument is over”. They know it’s B.S.; they know other planets in our solar system are experiencing Gorebull Warming, courtesy of the Sun, yet they refuse to back off on this conspiracy to push Global Warming and empower a global, money collecting, envirocracy. Why??

I think they are pushing for one world government, using Gaia, or Mother Earth as their “god” and assigning themselves “legal and actual authority” to protect her. In other words, the mother of all bootstraps.

Gore and his followers are talking about taking actual steps to combat climate “change”. They wish to hold the current climate static and mean to harm all worlds economies and cost billions of human lives in a meaningless and futile attempt to do so. I believe they know the attempt is futile and meaningless, but see it as a way to generate trillions of dollars, and more consolidated power than history’s most lustful conquerors ever dared imagine.

Gore is giving us a plan, to save the world. It involves taking cash and lives and throwing them away by the billions. Our Governments and school systems are forcefeeding Gore’s bilious pack of lies fundamental, paradigm changing lies to our young and scientifically naive children. They will internalize these lies every bit as much as they do with real scientific and other valid social teachings.

I’m pretty sure Gore, or someone closely associated with him, is the “antichrist”.

“A schoolkid in Ontario was complaining the other day that, whatever subject you do, you have to sit through Gore’s movie: It turns up in biology class, in geography, in physics, in history, in English.”

This is GOOD news; the Progs always resort to overkill whenever they latch onto something that The Great Unwashed seems to respond to, thus turning everyone off of it. Five years from now, nobody will admit ever having seen this dreck.

There was a ratty looking copy of Time magazine in our lunchroom with algore’s profile on the cover. I finally had pity on it (it kept being moved to the tables that are usually unused) and put it in the trash. Too bad they don’t recycle paper here. I figure I was saving people’s brains from false information.
