Did your pappy get leave home before storming the beaches, and driving the Hun back into the fatherland? Dad was deferred because of a heart problem but he did live to the ripe old age of 54 when his heart problem finally did him in, long enough to see his son (me) be a veteran but not long enough to see his grandson (my son) be a veteran.
