Tony Blair plans launch of interfaith group

Tony Blair is to launch an interfaith foundation early in the new year to combat religious extremism.

The former prime minister has held secret meetings with a number of religious leaders to finalise plans for the international organisation.

He believes it will help to ease tension between the world's major faiths and tackle common misunderstandings, particularly over Islam.

Mr Blair's initiative comes as he prepares to address America's most prestigious Catholic gathering this week, renewing speculation about his own possible conversion.

His friends suggest he may use the occasion to make his first public reference to the aims of the foundation.

Mr Blair, who was reading the Koran before the September 11 attacks on the US, has declared: "The tragedy is that Christians, Jews and Muslims are all Abrahamic religions.

"We regard ourselves as children of Abraham but we have fought for so long."

Mr Blair’s advisers have held talks with the office of Cardinal Cormac Murphy O’Connor, head of the Catholic Church in England and Wales, and representatives of the Archbishop of Canterbury.

The Muslim Council of Britain has also given its support, as has Labour supporting Jewish business leader Sir Sigmund Sternberg.

Depends upon your frame of reference.
One world religion heralds in all sorts of nasty things in revelations.
But the nasty things are followed by very good things.
God has you covered. Just make sure you have his son covered.
In any case, we are in for a wild ride that is just beginning (Birth pains Christ called them)

"Tony Blair is to launch an interfaith foundation early in the new year to combat religious extremism."

Tell Mr. Blair perhaps he should model his group after our interfaith group combating religious extremism:
The Marine Corps;

We have others:
The Navy;
The Army;
The Air Force.

“But the nasty things are followed by very good things.”

Luke 21:28
And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

The more extremely Christian the world is, the better off we all are.

“We are all Abrahamic religions.”

Right.

Except that the Koran says the Jews deserve nothing, are descendants of pigs and monkeys, and have lied about the text of their scripture; while the Bible says God will bless the world through the Jews (who are expressly the descendants of Abraham, not pigs and monkeys).

I didn’t say we were all Abrahamic religions! I don’t support Islam at all.

The UN’s and it’s Alliance of Civilizations...which many interfaith groups are getting behind (evangelicals included) - They are putting global guidelines together that forbid extremism - extremism being defined by them as any faith that states that their way is the only way.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Act 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

******

1Cr 10:20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.

2Cr 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

Eph 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

****

1Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

1Ti 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

Universalism = That all roads, all gods, all names, all paths lead to heaven and God is the end times false doctrine/religion of demons - to be rebukes in the names of Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus is the only way! Salvation only in Him and His name!
