I’ve been to Carthage a number of times.
I was born in Glendale, Ca. though. At the ripe old age of three I became restless and moved to Diamond Grove, Mo. for a change of scenery.

Anytime a place is majority white, it has to be mentioned, as if something sinister or evil is going on.They're probably just boycotting the place because someone was whistling Dixie.

Won’t find that at the Dixie Stampede, can’t even find a Rebel flag there. The whole thing is a big joke. Seems Dolly Parton went PC and forgot her roots.
Branson’s fine if tourists and music shows are your cup of tea. Me, I’d rather fish.

Very true... I lived in Columbia, MO for several years. You definintely need to start early and expect to be back by midnight or later...
I live in St. Louis now. So, Branson would be out of the question unless we were camping overnight or weekend or something...
Beautiful area... I don't care for the shows all that much, but the lakes and camping are worth the drive for me.

I live in southwest Missouri and I can’t stand Branson. The only thing that I consider worthwhile there is the College of the Ozarks.

My kids were born in Branson - before the latest growth spurt.
Visited the Titanic museum in 2006 - it is excellent!
Lots to do in the area without the music shows. (I grew up in the north, a little country music goes a long way :).
