"It could be that the Attorney General's Office might say this was outside the normal scope of the duties of the state prosecutor and refuse to provide state funds for defense," Boyce added.

If the attorney general decides Nifong was acting within his scope, Boyce said, another set of issues might arise – whether the attorney general's office would have a conflict of interest.

"And it might even include the appearance of any impropriety, because the attorney general's office said some egregious things about Mr. Nifong's conduct," Boyce said.

You burned your friends too, Nifong.

He’s not in jail. That means that the American justice system doesn’t work and is biased.

O.J.'s smug, sniggering @$$ may soon be doing hard time. That would do a lot to redeem the American court system for me, at least.

I doubt it. He sure must be friends with someone though. This one really surprised me. I thought they’d throw the book at him.

I feel sorry for the innocent taxpayers, who did nothing to deserve this, but the only way to prevent such abuses in the future is to make it clear to the brainless bureaucrats that their budgets might suffer from the careless exercise of their own moronity.

Uh, he was voted into office after it was already clear he was a criminal. That indicates to me, that the citizens didn't give a damn. Sounds to me like they deserve to pay for their errors.

Using public office to KNOWINGLY RAILROAD young college men into prison for rape where they would likely be raped themselves?

This guy needs to go to prison FOREVER, if he doesn’t spend YEARS in prison there’s something really, really wrong.
