China condemns Dalai Lama US trip

Beijing has strongly urged US President George W Bush to cancel a planned meeting with the Dalai Lama, saying it would “seriously damage” relations.

China isn't fooling anyone. They invaded a sovereign nation and murdered over 1.5 million people in the initial years of the invasion. No telling how many more have been murdered since. They routinely imprison and torture citizens, monks and nuns for merely possessing a picture of the Dalai Lama and have attempted to strictly control the practice of Buddhism in the same way they try to control the practice and teaching of Christianity in their own country. Defiance of their state-ordered regulations imposed on religious practice can and does result in torture and even death.

All this and far more is well known and solidly documented in the west. The PRC are murdering thugs and no amount of whitewashing or blackmail is going to change popular knowledge of that.

Good for President Bush for not kowtowing to Beijing on this. Let China retaliate and show its true face again.
