Yes, maybe if he had conceded the election on election night and not put the country through an unprecedented four-week sturm-and-drang featuring the most ludicrous legal arguments. I don't have to get snippy about it, but he did, in fact, concede the election on election night. It was a brief moment when he actually did exhibit the dignity and grace Friedman gives him credit for.

Of course, he then called Bush back and "unconceded," reverting to the self-centered, tantrum-throwing, jackass form Al Gore has trademarked.
