Giuliani Begins Returning $9.11 Checks (RINO opportunist's $9.11 fund-raiser)
NY MAGAZINE ^ | 10/16/07 | DAILY INTEL

Posted on 10/17/2007 4:40:11 AM PDT by Liz

After New Yorkers (and others) became outraged that a California supporter threw a fund-raiser for him asking for donations in the denomination of $9.11, the Giuliani campaign quietly began returning the checks. It's a small gesture..... but it's something. Is Giuliani finally recognizing how offensive it is for him to try to own the September 11 tragedy? Is he taking note that if his home city finishes turning against him, he'll have a hard time convincing people that he has a great mayoral legacy? Does this signify personal growth on his part? Eh, probably not. It's just $9.11, people.

BACKSTORY Giuliani Party Seeks $9.11 Per Person
Tuesday September 25, 2007
http://www.guardian.co.uk/uslatest/story/0,,-6946187,00.html

WASHINGTON (AP) - A supporter of Rudy Giuliani's is throwing a party that aims to raise $9.11 per person for the Republican's presidential campaign. Abraham Sofaer a State Department adviser under President Reagan and a fellow at Stanford University's Hoover Institution is having a fundraiser at his Palo Alto, Calif. home where Giuliani backers across the country are participating in the campaign's national house party night. But Sofaer said he had nothing to do with the "$9.11 for Rudy" theme. He referred questions to Giuliani's campaign. "I'm just providing support for him. He's an old friend of mine," Sofaer said of Giuliani. According to the invitation, "$9.11 for Rudy" is an "independent, non-denominational grass-roots campaign to raise $10,000 in small increments to show how many individual, everyday Americans support `America's Mayor.' "

COMMENTS Rooty's been renting his name to the highest bidder profiting off the tragedy bigtime..........now he's fundraising on the backs of 911 victims. Even more frightening---this nitwit Sofaer who is actually lending his name to the $9.11 atrocity----probably is on Rooty's list for WH appointments (gag). Sofaer was a State Department adviser under President Reagan and is a fellow at Stanford's Hoover Institution proving even idiots can be "fellows" and get jobs with the state department. Sofaer obviously misrepresented himself to get a job in the Reagan admin-----the president who sailed to victory with social and religious conservatives backing him. Now the poseur is in Rooty's camp----raising the money to ditch conservatives off the party lifeboat---and religiously cleanse the Repub party. During Reagan's term there was a lot of talk about people like Sofaer infiltrating the US government. God only knows the damage this pretender did, back-stabbing social conservatives every chance he got. The religious cleansing of the party had begun---and the religious-haters are financing RINO Rooty to finish the job.

" I announced as the 9/11 candidate on 9/11. I would not even be here if 9/11 had not happened. I own 9/11. 9/11 is my lucky number. Even my dog is named 9/11. And my wife has 9/11 tattoed on her thigh. I get up at 911 AM everyday and retire at 911 PM. I only buy cars that get 9 to 11 miles to the gallon. I live on 911 Ninth Street at the corner of 11th Avenue. 9/11 is the lottery number I play everyday.I'm buying the 7/11 store chain and renaming it 9/11. I dated my 9 yr old cousin when I was 11. I had my first sexual experience when I was 11 years old; it lasted 9 nanoseconds. Elect me and I will make 9/11 a national holiday. I will make sure 9/11 will be forever embedded in the memory of post-9/11 America."

Those who insist on Rudy are actually supporters of Hillary.

Rudy's popularity is tied purely to the coincidence that he happened to be mayor of a bombed city.

He should run with Ray Nagin.

Slogan: "Rudy 'n' Ray"

Re: Those who insist on Rudy are actually supporters of Hillary.

No offense, but that is probably the most asinine statement I have ever read on FR.

Rudy showed a level of leadership in the months after September 11 like this country has not seen since Reagan. And no, I am not exaggerating one bit.

Horse crackers. Rudy just happened to be there...just like Ray Nagin and Katrina.

And, those who insist on Rudy as the republican nominee KNOW they are splitting the party. Therefore, they must actually be supporters of a Hillary victory.

Did you see that Leno clip where Leno was acting as a debate moderator? LMBO! Has Leno getting ready to ask Rooty a question and Rooty says, 9-11. Leno says, “Mayor, I haven’t asked you a question yet”!

If people go through life believing there is only one issue (abortion) that is their choice, but at some point they will have to realize that life is about complex choices.

Rudy may not be the ultimate conservative, but at this point in history in the fight on the WOT, I will gladly take him over any of the others.

Ultimate conservative???? There is NOTHING conservative about him. Conservatives are not partially baked and there is NO such thing as being fiscally conservative and socially liberal..... Somebody has to pay for alllll that liberal play.

When Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal suggested that the attacks were an indication that the United States “should re-examine its policies in the Middle East and adopt a more balanced stand toward the Palestinian cause”, Giuliani asserted, :”There is no moral equivalent for this [terrorist] act. There is no justification for it... And one of the reasons I think this happened is because people were engaged in moral equivalency in not understanding the difference between liberal democracies like the United States, like Israel, and terrorist states and those who condone terrorism. So I think not only are those statements wrong, they’re part of the problem.” Giuliani subsequently rejected the prince’s $10 million donation to disaster relief in the aftermath of the attack.

If you THINK you're not exaggerating, then you MUST be on psychotropic drugs.

Keep drinking the RINO Koolaid (or taking the drugs, as it were).

Only the baaaaaad things about Rudy should be posted, dontcha know?

Rudy is my pick too, and it is based upon decisions like the $10M check being returned. I simply do not see any other modern candidate doing the same.

Rudy is not ANY kind of conservative.

He is:

Anti-gun

Pro-abortion

Pro-illegal immigration

Pro-big government

Anti-family

Where is the conservative of any type in all of that?

Rudy IS Hillary. Hillary IS Rudy. That is all you need to know.

Well, if I am on psychtropic drugs, then alot of other people are too.

Poll: As Thompson’s star fades, Clinton’s on the rise

http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/10/16/schneider.poll/index.html

And who do voters expect to win the election? Clinton was chosen by 45 percent. Only 16 percent expect Giuliani to get elected. Nobody else gets more than 10 percent.

Now it’s Clinton who faces great expectations. Here’s one reason: Asked if they would vote for the Democratic candidate or the Republican candidate for president, voters prefer the Democrat by 13 points.

But when the two front-runners are pitted against each other, Clinton leads Giuliani by just two percentage points, 49 percent to 47 percent, a statistical tie.

You forgot about him being a gun grabber, more government spending, higher taxes.

Heck, I'd argue that his foreign policy is the only thing he's got going for him, which would be one issue. So take your own advice.
