It was but a minor point compared to Giussolini’s disregard for principle, lack of knowledge of foreign policy, lack of a grasp of REALISM in foreign policy (”we must spread democracy”, what is he, Woodrow Wilson?), lack of a cultural/educational heritage that is conducive to American constitutionalism, and his squishyness on fiscal issues.
