Fred Thompson winning Iowa or coming in a strong second would sink the S.S. Romney like that iceberg in that movie. Mitt won't win South Carolina or Florida, so the only win he'd get would be the tiny state of New Hampshire, if that. Did everyone notice Congressman Hunter at 1% behind Ross Per...uh, Ron Paul?

Hunter is a good man, but he isn’t moving at all.

Romney and Thompson are essentially even among men, but Thompson attracts only 10% of the vote from women. In fact, Romney, Huckabee, and Giuliani all outpoll Thompson for the female vote.
What is the reason for this, and what is the remedy?

Thompson will not win Iowa...particularly if he has another debate showing like the one on October 9th.

Ron Paul and Duncan Hunter are within the margin of error of ZERO PERCENT.

"Ron Paul (2%)"

It looks like a hole in the Ron Paul spammer strategy. I'm sure they will coordinate better with Soros in the future.

Mitt did have a lead in a recent poll in South Carolina. Was 6 points behind Thompson and tied with Giuliani in the most recent South Carolina poll I’ve seen.

Seems to me like Romney is in just as much striking distance in South Carolina as Thompson is in Iowa.

And as the evangelical endorsements start coming in for Romney as I have a feeling they will....

We shall see.

Your obsession with dissing Romney is very helpful ... to Rudy Guiliani.

“The first Rasmussen Reports poll of the Iowa Republican Caucus for 2008 finds former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney enjoying a six-point lead while former Tennessee Senator Fred Thompson and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee are virtually tied for second.”

Wasn’t Romney recently enjoying a 10% lead? Now it’s down to 6? Hmmm, better move that Caucus date up to November!

“Ron Paul (2%), and Duncan Hunter (1%).”

I love Duncan Hunter, even more than Fred. Hunter is FAR more conservative consistently HOWEVER, when the little ‘tard PAUL is outpolling you?

Just Damn.

“For McCain, the numbers are dismal. Among Republicans likely to participate in the caucus, 53% have a favorable opinion of the Arizona Senator while 45% have an unfavorable view.”

I change my mind. I thought that Tancredo would be next out. I now believe it will be McCain.

Yes!!! Mitt’s excellent performance in all of the debates, and in all of his public appearances, is beginning to change minds. He is the man to beat Mrs. Bill Clinton.

So when Romney drops out, who do you think gets most of his support?

Romney and Thompson are essentially even among men, but Thompson attracts only 10% of the vote from women.

If Thompson doesn't appeal to Republican women, he sure won't to the moderate swing voting women that the GOP nominee needs to get to 51%.

A FDT that polls terribly among women is surefire general election loser.

When is this caucus?

Seems that any spoiler could just flood the caucus with supporters and tilt the ballance.

Huckabee should withdraw. At this point he is only in it for ego.

Seventy-seven percent (77%) believe that U.S. troops should remain in Iraq until the mission is complete. Nationally, 64% of Americans want the troops out of Iraq within a year.

And all 77% of those who say "U.S. troops should remain in Iraq until the mission is complete" also "want the troops out of Iraq within a year". They just realize that "mission complete" is a higher priority than "coming home".

Huckabee has no place in the race. At this point with his national irrelevance, his continued presense is only for ego.

They usually don’t even have any information on Duncan Hunter. Wonder why he rated this mention? 1% is miniscule.
