UPDATED: Prince William County, Va., early this morning gave final approval to some of the nation's most stringent immigration laws after yesterday's Board of County Supervisors meeting. At 2:30 a.m., after more than 12 hours of testimony from hundreds of residents and others, the eight-member board unanimously approved measures to deny county services to illegal aliens and authorize police to check the immigration status in all arrests if there is probable cause to think that a suspect has violated federal immigration law.

Maybe I should sell my house in Loudoun and move back to Manassas?

Good for them. At least, some lawmakers have sense.

"Where do you get off demanding services, rights and mandatory citizenship?" said Manassas resident Robert Stephens. "Who invited you? You cry for your rights? You have none." The man is hitting on all eight cylinders.

Home county of the Bruck family.
This is a bellwether for the other counties here in NoVA.

Quick note: I listened briefly to the Steve Plant show on WMAL. He had a caller from the real estate industry who stated that the 40 and 50-year-old Dems in the area that this is taking place, and raised their kids through high school there, are now moving in droves to places like North and South Carolina. They prefer to pay lower taxes, and not support all that their bleeding hearts tell them should magically be provided for illegals in Prince William and neighboring counties. Interesting if true.

I understand that the number of people seeking "free" ER medical care in hospitals around Prince William has grown by 50%. So you may very well want to move back to Manassas.
We're stuck in a part of Virginia that's never going to deal with the reality of the costs of illegal immigration to its citizens.

I suspect Arlington and Fairfax won’t follow Prince William, but Loudoun and Stafford will. I don’t know about Alexandria City.
