So, basically, these people’s local interests trump the interests of the country. Hint: if the Border Patrol is your mortal enemy, maybe you’re in the wrong damned country.

I do believe that a great number of Mexicans have hated this country for quite some time. The government of Mexico actively assists its citizens to enter and remain in this country, contrary to our laws. These people use tens of billions of dollars annually in schooling, health care and law enforcement costs. Much of the wages its citizens earn here aren't reported to the IRS or the states, and few taxes are raised on these earnings. Instead, its citizens send the money back to Mexico. The Mexican governement ignores, or possibly actively cooperates with, various drug gangs originating in Mexico which import billions of dollars of drugs into this country, contrary to our laws and its promises and obligations, which drugs poison our youth and cost this country multiple billions in crime, medical expenses, rehabilitation expenses, lost wages, etc., etc.
How, exactly, would we be worse off by putting up a fence? What are they going to do, invade with an army of illegals and smuggle drugs into this country? They sure won't invade, not with a regular army - because the Corpus Christi chapter of the D.A.R. could probably turn them back.
