One of the suspected “middlemen” and 18 people who obtained fraudulent Rhode Island licenses are still wanted by the police in a scheme that allegedly involved two clerks at the state Department of Motor Vehicles.

Nelson Hernandez, 26, of Providence, is suspected of working as a middleman arranging to help people obtain valid Rhode Island licenses from DMV clerks Dolores Rodriguez-LaFlamme and Soraya Santiago. A second alleged “middleman” was arrested last week.

The authorities are also seeking people who illegally obtained licenses from LaFlamme and Santiago:

• Yhasil Larracuente, 26, obtained a license on Dec. 8. The Tiverton police arrested Larracuente for drug delivery under an alias, Jose R. Paulino-Ramirez, 25, on July 3. He was released on $75,000 surety and turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which released him because he was not amendable to deportation at the time. Larracuente had been arrested in Massachusetts for drug distribution and driving without a license.

• Carlos Reyes, 33, alias Modesto Rivera, obtained a license on Jan. 24. He has been arrested numerous times for drug distribution, according to the state police.

• Ramon Sanchez, 29, alias Osvaldo Nadal Polanco Candelario, 32, licensed on May 17, 2006. He was arrested in New York City for bail jumping. He’d been previously arrested by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement for illegal entry into the United States in January 2002.

• Juan A. Bultron, 41, licensed on May 9.

• Juan J. Giron, 26, licensed on Nov. 8.

• Leonardo Polanco, 30, licensed on May 1, 2006.

• Elardio Rosario, 48, licensed on Nov. 3, 2005.

• Juan A. Ramos, 29, licensed on June 27, 2006.

• Kristian Reyes, 26, licensed on Jan. 30. He turned in the Rhode Island license for a valid license in New York in August.

• Jose A. Valentin, 49, licensed on June 8.

• Wilfredo Cabrera, 40, obtained a Rhode Island license on Sept. 6, 2006

• Benjamin Castro, 28, obtained a license on Jan. 18

• Jose E. Gonzalez, 35, obtained a license on Sept. 27

• Joseph P. Lopez, 33, obtained a license on Jan. 29.

• Antonio Morales Colon, 44, obtained a license Dec. 5.

• Roberto J. Rodriguez, 22, obtained license on Sept. 26, 2006

• Roberto R. Vega, 30, license on May 29

• Carlos O. Zayas, 30, license on Dec. 7, 2006

The state police did not give addresses for any of the wanted suspects, because it’s not certain where any of them live.
