What other groups receive free rent from the city?
If there are any other such groups, I am opposed to such Welfare arrangements.
For starters, How abut the NFL team? Hell the city even built a stadium for them. How about the Hockey teams? There's about a BILLION in taxpayer "welfare" right there.
I' sur if you put your mind to it, you can think of many, many more groups, clubs, associations, help centres, etc that get 'free' rent or subsidies, grants (the ballet club, orchestra, theatre club, fine arts, etc. are all 'welfare' recipients)
Kick them all out! make em pay their own way! make 'em pay rent!
The Boy Scouts built the property they are renting for the city in 1928 with the agreement that it could rent the property for $1.
The only REASON to renege on that agreement is bigotry by the city of Philadelphia toward the BSA's religious views.
