He’s been doing good writing for years now. I’m happy Rush gave him a little boost today.

JJ is a atheous Libertarian. He is not on my side. I heard him in a interview three weeks ago on the radio.

Wish I was a fly on the wall.
Hopefully, Ann urged Rush to endorse Hunter on his show and tell his audience to vote for him...in the ‘lovable fuzzball’ way that only Rush can :))

I’ve done a little joke writing for Jimmy. He’s a great guy. Not only very cool on his politics, but just a genuinely nice man who always spends time with his fans after shows to answer their questions (even if he’s answered that question a million times before) and is famous for being willing to give beginners a start in the business. You can’t imagine how many comedy writers got their start by selling a few jokes to Jimmy Walker. David Letterman was one of them, which is why he always has a spot on Letterman’s show.

I saw him recently on TV (I forget for what)and he did say something political that surprised me. In fact it surprised me so much, that I can't remember what it was.
I was a "What's Happening" fan anyhow.

Went to JJ’s web page and was quite impressed. On his views I read the ones on Rush, Obama, and Bill Cosby. This man is much more than a flip comic, he is a real thinker and quite articulate. I never knew much about him before but will keep an eye on him from now on.
PS. Is it just me or is Free Republic slower than the seven year itch today???

Unusual story about his show “Good Times”.
In the early seventies, one of my seismic boats had a problem while working off the Ivory Coast.
The VP of marine units had bought two VCRS, one for the boat and the other for his wife to tape shows for the crew.
The boat had a group of Nigerians working as laborers.
They spoke English and would laugh at the proper times during the shows except for the only "good times" show on the tape.
They laughed the entire time JJ was on the screen.
This one tape was their favorite.
I did not ask why but they must have known someone in their village that looked or acted like him.

While doing some consulting work in Omaha back in 1998-1999 I was surprised to hear JJ “dynomite” Walker as a radio talk show host and even more pleasantly surprised to hear him sound like a black Rush.
