If that is a “small minority” how in the hell do they control both state houses? Your assertion is absurd on its face.
Politics is complicated and requires deep thought. If you don't do that then things do seem "absurd." A lot of people who think like you would claim its absurd on its face to say that cutting taxes brings in more money.
The public has elected a majority of Democrats who have run as populists in their campaigns. They don't run campaigns as Marxists and sodomites. They run their campaugns as teh guy next door whos looking out for the little guy. When they get to Sacramento however, they vote for leadership consisting of the farthest left lunatics from San Francisco and Hollywood who then control the agenda. That's who have seized control of their party, and anyone who strays from that does so at great risk.
Why don't you come to California and speak to people OUTSIDE San Francisco or West Los Angeles and see what they think of the world and how things should be. You won't find raving Marxists or perverts, you'll find normal average Americans like anywhere else in the country.
