It is surprising to me that he will be held over a traffic accident in a detention center until deportation. That does not seem to be the usual practice.
But if that is the case, I see no problem with that. There are many fine people in Mexico. Now there will be one more.
And if Salvador really wants to come back, he’ll come back. Don’t tell anybody, but there is no fence along much of our Southern border.
This is some of the best news I've heard all day. Thanks for sharing.
But, rest assured, Salvador will get a disappearance letter
>>We are told that is not at all true in his case.
***First of all, this doesn’t pass the smell test, so I’m inclined not to believe what you “are told”.
Second of all, this “disappearance letter” practice needs to stop, pronto, regardless of whether your hard working friend ends up in the net.
Third, this is exactly the kind of case that ICE is looking for so that THEY DON’T HAVE to continue deporting illegal aliens. My daughter’s & my sister’s desire to clean industrial incinerators is greater than any hard-working illegal alien’s right to be here. Period.
Bill, I do not hate immigrants, not even illegal ones. They are just people. I have to say though, if they break the rules, and get caught, just like any of us, they have to pay the consequences.
I don’t think it is all bad. Is it such a bad thing to go to Mexico? Can he not be a great asset to his country? Can he not help build that up into a strong and stable nation? A nation where people want to live and work? Why should we get all the “best” Mexicans?
Should Mexico just be a terrible thing to him, he can certainly apply for citizenship legally. He can visit. He can get temporary work visas. It is not impossible to work within the system. I hope he makes it.
