Believe me, Congress isn’t going to quit that easily.

Seeing that no one is paying the hated income tax, Congress could get it’s act together, abolish the income tax, and institute a national sales tax.

The sales tax doesn't go far enough, and it tampers with our right to buy and sell without government intervention. The real issue is monetary policy. A large portion of our income taxes (and our sales taxes if they replaced them) go to paying private cartel banks in the Federal Reserve system interest on money we could have been printing four ourselves.

Ron Paul would strive to eliminate the federal reserve, bring government back to a gold or silver-backed currency that it could not abuse with inflation in order to fund programs it didn't have the cash to support in the first place. Two problems solved at once. Further, he'd abolish the IRS as well.
