Please Help me find the Mark Twain passage where he deals with the 'redemption' of a drunk and the bliss and hopes pinned on the success, and the obvious falling back into alcoholism of a town drunk. (I remember it being a few pages...) I've spent HOURS trying to find it. Thanks, Sarah

Huck Finn, chapter 5.

Just glancing at that photo, it resembles a human skull. I wonder if that is intentional (actually, through the fog of a bad cold, I wonder if anyone else sees it but me).

Searchable database of Mark Twain books Huck Finn was modelled after the son of the town drunk, Tom Blankenship, I think. Maybe it was in Tom Sawyer, the most widely-read Twain book. Anyway, you can search many of his books at the link.
He wrote many short stories as well; they aren't included. I'm guessing you read it in one of Twain's novels.

Of course it is supposed to be a skull. Vanity is a sin and like all sins leads to (spiritual) death.

Ha! Scrolling down to the posts, I just noticed a skull and paid it no attention. It wasn’t until I read your post that I went back and saw the elements that form the skull. Very clever piece of art!
To: Mila
Thanks for that. Obviously it IS intended.
