Yes, true; I do know Jay Severin left a few years ago
when HIS contract expired to do a (short lived) syndicated
show, a better opportunity for HIM (and Greater may have
fought tooth and nail to try and re-sign him...?) . Of course WTKK got to be one of the affiliates anyway :) And nine
months later, he either quit or was dropped by Westwood One
(I say it’s the latter) and was back in Boston...

Greater Media’s statement and he added:
“This dispute could still be resolved between the two group heads (Peter Smyth [GM] and David Field [Entercom]). But I guess they’re not ready for that yet. And WRKO fears losing a major franchise if Howie’s permanently off the air there.”
