Gay Dumbledore: Somewhere, Jerry Falwell Is Smiling
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

"It’s a children’s show, folks. To think we would be putting sexual innuendo in a children’s show is kind of outlandish." Spokesman for Itsy Bitsy Entertainment Co., which licenses Teletubby characters in the United States.

Yeah, outlandish. I mean, how could anyone imagine there could be undisclosed gay characters in pop-culture materials for children? That Jerry Falwell, what a Christian conservative crank! We all remember how the MSM rightly unloaded on him when he suggested that the Teletubby Tinky Winky could be a hidden homosexual, because "he is purple, the gay pride color, and his antenna is shaped like a triangle, the gay pride symbol." Not to mention that he carried a purse. What ridiculous speculation!

The New York Times, for example, in an article written shortly after Falwell's death, mocked him as having "spouted off" with his gay Teletubby theory.

What's that? It now turns out that Dumbledore is gay? That guy who was the headmaster at Harry Potter's Hogwarts? Author J.K. Rowling said so herself?

Oh, well, that's different. According to the New York Times:

A gay headmaster at a British boarding school? The idea may not be particularly shocking to the literati or to those who have speculated on the Internet about the sexuality of Albus Dumbledore, master wizard and headmaster of Hogwarts, home to Harry Potter and his mates.
What? We shouldn't be shocked that British boarding school headmasters are gay? Sounds like sexual stereotyping to me. What's next, the Times telling us that we shouldn't be shocked by gay male window designers or figure skaters?

And while Falwell was thoroughly lambasted in the MSM for his suggestion, the Times tells us that Rowlings's revelation inspired "applause."

Somewhere, Jerry Falwell is smiling.

We shouldn't be shocked that British boarding school headmasters are gay?

That explains the British School tradition of caning.

J.K. Rowling has a Mountain of money. She can say whatever she wants. The UK is actually more PC than the US anyway. A gay character may make her even more popular.

Read CS Lewis autobiography “Surprised By Joy”. It points to some interesting aspects about English Boys Schools.

Gandalf wasn’t gay, just the actor who played him.

JRRT would never have written a gay character, except possibly as a villain.

I still don’t understand the popularity of the series. It’s just not my cup of tea. Either way it’s just a book.

Not to mention that he carried a purse. What ridiculous speculation!

As I remember it, Mr. Falwell's newsletter (not Mr. Falwell himself) made the observation that a month earlier, a London newspaper had made the claim that Tinky Winky represented a gay character.
When the London newspaper printed the story, it was greeted with a shoulder shrug. When Mr. Falwell's newsletter reprinted the claim, Mr. Falwell was ripped throughout the MSM as a paranoid Neanderthal...
Yet another case of the MSM's selective memory and double-standards...

Dumbledore is a fictional character...
F-I-C-T-I-O-N-A-L C-H-A-R-A-C-T-E-R...
I don't care what Ms. Rowling says that he "is."
Obviously, his gay-ness wasn't an important enough factor to include it in any of the actual books. Maybe in her mind he was gay, but that doesn't mean the books are spreading the homosexual agenda or anything.

Jerry was not the first to make the connection. The gay community had already written about it before Jerry COMMENTED on it.

The myth lives on.

So there weren’t any witches in the Crucible EITHER since they were all fictional characters? The must’ve made their prosecution IN The Crucible all the more of a “witchhunt” then.

She’s saying this to boost sales and to get accolades from the Lavender Mafia.
