Evacuations are mostly north and east of our house, the closest being about 8 miles away...
We've had friends using our place as home base as evacuations are announced and then lifted... this is not a pretty situation with upwards of a quarter million people affected, especially since they have announced mandatory evacuations from Scripps Ranch, in the south, and Fallbrook in the north.
Not to mention that the prognosis is not encouraging at all. Two of the fires could, realistically, burn all the way to the ocean...a frightening scenario since they would burn through very densely populated (and affluent) neighborhoods...

my sister just started as a director at that parkland hospital here in dallas - i read where there are 42 babies born there per day and 70% were to non-citizen parents - its a huge complex of building with several hospitals that are all interconnected - evidently, its still not enough because they are planning to relocate to a new hospital they are gonna build - which means even more taxes (they already have ‘parkland’ taxes on water and phone bills in addition to our property taxes) - i wish i had built my house outside dallas county
