I highly recommend Command Anti Virus. It is downloadable at Authentium.com.

I was directed there from a friend who does security on the systems of fire and police depts. I have never regretted getting it. Tech support is super, and it is extremely user friendly. Not as invasive as McAfee or Norton, but much more effective!

These days anti virus software is also anti spy ware software? Kapersky and Blacklight are supposed to be the best

W/ McAffee, turn off everything but the basic AV or be prepared to run w/ 4 gigs of RAM.

AVG is tough to beat for the price. Install Spybot too.

Use to get hammered by viruses on a regular basis. Have been using AVG (free, by the way) for several years now … nary a virus. Haven’t needed any “stinking” support … ;-)

Use the uninstall button.

I have been running without on board AV software since 2003. Everything works way better. When I want to do a scan, I go to Trend Micro and run their “House Call” scan.
