CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Already bleeding red, the nation's second-largest bank is now passing out pink slips.
Bank of America says it will eliminate 3,000 jobs, most of them from its investment banking unit.

I feel bad for the people who are losing their jobs, but I am glad that the company is doing bad. They are an awful band IMHO.

Bank of America - weren’t they the ones extending, among other services, credit cards to illegals?
Yes they were, thats where they got the nickname “Bank Of Amigo”!.
They aren’t bleeding red. Overall they are still making a profit. And I was expecting the news to be mortgage related, not investment banking.
Absent that their retail businessis huge and hugly profitable.
B of A is a big time supportor of illegals...home loans/credit cards and so on.........I would never use this bank.

Our local news said it WAS mortgage related. I suspect they lost a lot of business over the illegals issue.

Yeah. Whenever I go into the local B of As here in Durham, their signage and advertising are always half English and half Spanish—some of it Spanish-only, in fact. The only reason I don’t pull my business is the sheer pain-in-the-butt factor of moving my paycheck direct deposit and all my automatic bill payments to another bank account.

I have read that a lot of jobs in the financial and insurance industry will be eliminated through automation and many outsourced overseas.
Bank of America is doing very well. They just paid two billion for Countrywide.
Guess the way they plan to pay for it is these 3,000 have to go.
Bank of America is not a good company.I droped them during the illegal alien credit card fiasco. I wasn’t going to abet criminals.
