This is an appropriate and coordinated move that sets the stage for subsequent actions.

I am betting this has be done, so when we do bomb Iran’s nuke facilities, we can take out the republican guard and Quds forces by bombing them too because they are designated terrorist organizations. Therefore, they will have little impact on our operations in Iraq and make it easier for the populace of Iran to overthrow the mullahs and their propped up regime. Sounds like game, set, match coming.

Now you will stay in the Comfy Chair until lunchtime, with only a cup of coffee at eleven!

Should have been done as early as 1976, but we know the peanut farmer is way behind the power curve, Reagan was battling a liberally run congress, which is still out of control; and the list goes on.

“”The measures could affect hundreds of foreign companies by squeezing them to drop Iranian business or risk U.S. sanctions.””
That is the only reason we did this. Makes Europe think about who they will do business with.
To: maquiladora
This is good. Unilateral sanctions bypassing the UN. Crank out some more Exec Orders while you are at it.
To: maquiladora
Great, giving them the old “stop or I’ll say stop again” a la North Korea will sure show them.

This is long overdue. OK, we’ve got sanctions, we’ve declared them a terrorists organization (what took us so long?), let’s break out the MOABs.

This is just neccessary and part of the leadup to military action. Call it foreplay to military action.

About Time. Few over the last 28 years have been willing to risk the political wrath of liberals at home and the politicos in Europe.
But the sanctions will do only one thing, make Americans aware.
We have an Islamofascist Axis with which to content, which includes Russia, as of todays announcement of a Russia/Iran alliance in arms.
All the goobers who do business with Iran now will simply resort to the Black Market, with the covert support of the UN and liberals at home ( like the Plame /Wilsons).
We will have to fight them eventually. And sooner is better than later.

In the end, China and Russia may wish they supported more toothless UN sanctions if the US follows through with punishing countries/companies that do business with Iran.
