So why not reach quick agreement on what everyone agrees on -- beefing up SCHIP funding for uninsured kids from low-income families? This would help states budget for the children's health programs they run with federal dollars and give low-income kids the coverage they need and deserve.

Sorry David. Not everybody is in agreement on this. I would rather the entire program be trashed, rather than expanded.

And, by the way, exactly what have these low-income kids done to "deserve" government sponsored health insurance?

This implies the funds are strictly from the Fed. They are not. This is the kind of thing that gets these hasty measures passed!!!
