DUTCH magician Ramana has been doing his best to freak out American people by levitating in Times Square and in front of the White House.
The illusionist, real name Wouter Bijdendijk, hovered several feet above the pavement with apparent ease. His only "prop" was a stick that he held with his left hand.

>>Ramana’s repertoire also includes “flying” up to 10 metres above ground, mind reading and other forms of Indian street trickery. <<
Must be a long stick...

it’s not about the length of the stick but rather the width...

DUTCH magician Ramana has been doing his best to freak out American people by levitating in Times Square and in front of the White House. Trust us, Ramana, we're far more freaked out at what could be done in the White House by Her Heinous than anything you do in front of the place.

Folks keep waving their hands around under this guy in profound amazement. Has anyone given his stick a good sturdy kick?
He oughta get off my lawn and get a real job.

There are many white houses, why is the location so important that it´s mentioned in the headline?

It’s not levitating if you are still connected to the ground or the side of a building.
It would be interesting to stay until he comes down and see how he does it. How did he get on the side of the building in the video and how will he come down? Is he going to be covered with a tarp while it happens?

Looks like he is on a cantilevered arm attached to the stick which in turn is probably attached to a plate under the rug.

That guy gets any higher, he's gonna enter secured air space.
They'll shoot the bastard down.

Criss Angel (sp?) does FAR more spectacular stuff. I swear he isn’t human. Check out “Mindfreak” sometime. Unreal.

Yup. The "stick" is attached to a base and a platform.

Have you seen the one where Chris levitates from one building to another? You know it’s a trick but it is amazing.

If he's up there more than 4 hours, he better see his doctor.

Oh, it’s a “magician”. I thought this would be about Algor having finally filled up with enough global warming causing methane gas that he started to float away like a hot air balloon.

I still like the way David Blaine does it on Street Magic. After walking around all over the place showing people card tricks and other really cool stuff, he walks up to a few people and does his levitation trick. He only raises himself less than a foot off the ground, but it all seems so impromptu and casual that it’s believable.

When I’m in Washington I always feel a bit lighter. From money being picked from my wallet by the IRS, and congressional big spenders.
