More good news from Iraq, once again from a foreign source. I expect it to be above the fold in tomorrow's NYT, though. /sarc

This can’t be true. Obviously our soldiers ar etoo dumb to understand that we’re losing and the war is an unwinnable quagmire.

Yeah, I like the title. That’s the way. “You’re under arrest. Of course, you’re dead, but you’re still under arrest, so be patient while I read you your rights.”

DoD News Briefing with Maj. Gen. Mixon from the Pentagon Briefing Room, Arlington, Va.

“Complementing our offensive campaign has been a relentless pace of intelligence-driven raids which have captured or killed dozens of terrorist cell leaders and disrupted financial networks in Mosul and Samarra. In all provinces, the enemy is off-balance and unable to plan, finance or execute coordinated operations to near the level it had prior to the surge. Not surprisingly, total number of attacks in Multinational Division-North have dropped for three consecutive months and are on track to drop again for the month of October. These security successes have restored the confidence of the Iraqi people, who are now stepping forward in many communities, setting aside tribal and secular differences and sharing a common duty of fighting terrorism and rejecting extremism.

We currently have more than 15,000 participating concerned local citizens in northern Iraq, who are taking active security measures and assisting coalition and Iraqi security forces in their respective neighborhoods. This fairly recent development is perhaps the greatest sign of progress during my time in Iraq. As we all know, an insurgency is all about the people, and you have to have the people’s support, and their support is swinging in our direction.”

How much coverage is the drastic change in Iraq getting in the media back home?

This should be TOP NEWS. I know the media sucks, but it really is annoying that they are ignoring it like this when they spent so much time trumpeting the bad stuff.

This change is AMAZING. This should be shouted from the rooftops. Iraq is shaping up and growing up and this deserves attention.

How I detest our lowlife media.

The war is not un-winnable, it has already been lost. Harry Reid told me so.

I Think the president should schedule monthly “chats with the nation”in prime time to explain exactly what is occurring in Iraq. He should explain this is necessary because our major media outlets have chosen not to inform the American people on their own.

I wonder too how it’s playing in the states, or if it’s even being noted. I saw a report today in Stars and Stripes newspaper showed no service members died in Iraq yesterday. Obviously, Iraq is not another Vietnam, and it never was. But the DNC and MSM did their best to convince the gullible that it was. Now, they’re not going to be too eager to admit they were wrong and blinded with partisan bias.

I was just about to ping you to a Ron Paul thread that got pulled in the middle of my reply.

I then remembered I haven’t looked at your posting history in a while. I’m glad I did.

Glad to see your still in the thick things. Making it better.
