The same thing could be said of Western civilization in general. A great allegory to be used as the basis for a novel.

Well, that chaps me. We need this weapon in our arsenal, even if we never have to use it. Who would agree to play cards and self-impose a rule never to use Kings or Aces? RP is way off on this.

As much as I like a lot of what RP says, this decision is just wrong. And when he said 9/11 was committed by 19 thugs, it was like blaming the glove for what the hand did, or rather ignorance of the hand (the analogy’s not perfect, the 19 were murderers, but they weren’t alone). It seems a conscious bit of ignorance.

"I always come away perplexed why anyone would be consumed by such a desire."

Yes, in the final analysis, you have to plunk some people into the category of "nuts"!

When people get into a psychotic mindset, nothing can convince them that they're "nuts". No amount of persuasion. No amount of reasoning. No amount of facts. No danger or fear.

Along these lines, millions of Americans are convinced that it is to their advantage to increase the size, reach, and appetite of that Frankenstein's Monster know as the Federal Government and of the politicians in Washington--and ever more increasingly the capitals of the individual states--who form our ruling oligarchy and who use this Monster to milk us of our hard earned money.

No amount of argument will convince these Americans that politicians want their money for themselves--for their own comfort and aggrandizement--and to get even more power and money for themselves.

Millions of Americans apparantly are cannot see this. It's like being psychotic.

In fact, they're "nuts"!
