Huckabee left computers, fund gutted

The source, the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, is a conservative newspaper, despite its name.

"A memo dated Jan. 9 from a state Department of Information Systems official to Huckabee (said that) ... “All drives have been subsequently crushed under the supervision of a designee of your office,” wrote Gary Underwood, the agency’s chief technology officer and a former Huckabee staff member.

I was thinking about this yesterday, (destroying the hard drives) "under the supervision of a designee of your office". I just now noticed that it says the IT guy was the one who wrote the drives were destroyed. So we don't know if Huckabee ordered it or not, as far as I know. But assuming that Huckabee did know in advance, or even assuming it was his idea, do you think destroying the hard drives was a good idea or not? I can kind of see both sides of that. As a business practice, it might have been a good idea to destroy the hard drives. Or maybe not. I don't know. What do the other people think?
