California: Rabbis nourish crews with food, lessonsyikes! I thought it said, "Rabbits nourish crews with food, lessons." I was going to post a PETA alert!

In Judaism, light carries many meanings. It guides us, warms us, grows our food, heats our food, and reveals the light in our souls and of course reveals the Divine Light. Food itself has spiritual significance to and Jews are in the habit of thanking God before eating, a tradition inherited in the Christian Grace Before Meal. The firefighters are doing God's work in keeping their neighbors and families safe from harm.

Rock on! This is a wonderful story! I am a Christian, AND I understand through Scripture that God has not turned His back on the children of Israel.
I pray for the protection and preservation of this Rabbi, and all true Jews everywhere, until the day of Christ’s return. Will anyone join me in this?
Peace to you all!

Although fires have burned other properties in the area, "ours is an oasis, being protected. And God willing, it should continue," Cunin said. Hmm, tempting the God(s) is not wise. If the winds shift, this man will feel (and look) like a chump.
I have never understood the mentality of people who think God loves them better when He spares them from some calamity that afflicts other people.
"Yes, the plane crashed and two hundred people including a little newborn baby died a fiery, agonizing death. But I walked away without a scratch. Praise God, IT'S A MIRACLE!"

Kind act.
According to the news, some of the firefighters went for more than a day without food.

If this rabbi knew his Torah, he'd know why these fires are out of control: people have been removed from the land pursuant to a pagan nature-worship theology. The Toriac is found in Bereshit 2:15:
And the Adonai took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
Nature needs man to care for it, tend it, love every inch of Adonai's creation. Were that how we treated wild-lands, fires would be part of a management strategy that included grazing, gardening, hunting... all the uses He intended. This being a shemittah year, per Vayikra 25:6 (Parasha Behar) the people would be out on productive land foraging for the ample food it would provide to both man and beast were it tended as mandated.
25:6 But what the land produces during the year of Shabbat shall be food for all of you you, your servant, youre your maid, your employee, anyone living near you, (Sterns Complete Jewish Bible)
As it is, the land will be stripped of its soils and as hard as brass per Vayikra 26:19 :
19 And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass: 20 And your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits.

IMHO, this has nothing whatever to do with supporting a Palestinian state.

They tried to distribute cereal to the adult workers, but were told, “Silly Rabbis, Trix are for kids.”
