The same surveys show that while Clinton is attracting 18% of Republican women, she is losing an average of 20% of Democratic men to the Republicans. Would that be the same GOP whose brand has supposedly sustained great damage?

Any "Republican" woman who would vote for clinton is the kind of "Republican" I have no use for. Let her call herself a Democrat and be done with it.
I have querried Democrat friends in the past and discovered they are clueless as to the stance of their Party leadership on most issues we care about. My Democrat friends are anti "illegal alien", anti "welfare," anti "terrorist," anti "tax and spend," anti most things the Democratic Party stands for.
If Republican women are pro- those things enough to vote for Hillary, who needs them. On the other hand, maybe the poll is bogus since my Democrat friends are unlikely to study the stance of their candidates enough to change affiliations. Perhaps this percent of Republican women are so dense they think Hillary is a man dressed in drag...or maybe they don't think so, they know so.

The way to address this problem/opportunity is to
not nominate a candidate who is especially weak with Republican women.
Rasmussen Iowa:
Among Men
- Mitt Romney 24%
- Fred Thompson 23%
- Mike Huckabee 19%
- Rudy Giuliani 11%
- John McCain 6%
Among Women
- Mitt Romney 28%
- Rudy Giuliani 16%
- Mike Huckabee 16%
- Fred Thompson 10%
- John McCain 7%
- Sam Brownback 4%
It isn't just Iowa, and it isn't just Rasmussen. Thompson gets good support from GOP men, lousy from women. Those GOP men who support Thompson are not ever going to Clinton. But the GOP women, and muddled moderates might drives them away.

Can one conclude that 18% of Republican women suffer from a gender identity crises?
To: freespirited
Men just are turned off by her. I suspect its also true of women. As we saw in the recent French presidential election, gender solidarity is not all its cooked up to be.

Whats the problem, I have a Mexican mayor. People vote for the people that represent them. Mexicans vote for Mexicans, Women vote for women. Im glad it is not always true, I have run across a number of people that hated Reagan but will vote for anyone against Amnesty.

Clinton attracting an average of 18% support from Republican women. To be really useful, this data should be compared to how many republican women voted for democrat candidates in the past, or even how many would support Edwards or Obama. 18% is not a very high figure.

This is BS. I haven’t met any Conservative women who support Hillary but I have met some Liberal women who can’t stand her.

Ms Clinton Wins Women But Loses Men
I was always afraid that the fight is not between Rep and Demkrts, but once the Front-line crystallizes and the Fog lifts you will find Man on one side and Woman on the other.
Hopefully it still takes a long time to get there.
