The firm emailed 4,000 Britons this summer and asked them to nominate up to 10 living people who they considered geniuses.

They received back 1,100 nominations for individuals in all walks of life, more than 60 per cent of whom were either American or English. Only 60 per cent were still alive.

The list was created by British citizens. I think we can judge the level of British intelligence by the fact that they were asked to nominate living people they considered geniuses and only 60% of their choices were living.

Nor is Brian May, who built his guitar at 17, wrote a number of hit songs with Queen, and recently completed his PhD in Astrophysics.

However, I entirely agree with the inclusion of Prince. He’s freaky weird, but completely brilliant.

Camelot Pulls Scratchcard Amid Numerical Anarchy

"I phoned Camelot and they fobbed me off with some story that -6 is higher, not lower, than -8, but I'm not having it.

"I think Camelot are giving people the wrong impression - the card doesn't say to look for a colder or warmer temperature, it says to look for a higher or lower number. Six is a lower number than 8. Imagine how many people have been misled."
