It is if you’re an anti-jihadist troll or hacker, and there are many of them out there.

Where are those anti-personnel canisters that drop from the skies and blow schrapnel here and there?

http://www.reuters.com/article/asiaCrisis/idUSCOL46965

excerpt:

The militants killed seven civilians and decapitated three soldiers and three policemen they had taken hostage in the nearby town of Matta on Friday. "

Troops have their own mortars and have been firing at those militants," Arshad said. "These are the same people who beheaded those civilians and dragged their bodies in the bazaar." "

Until such time as these people are evicted from the area and peace is restored and innocent people are given full security, I think this is going to continue"

THINK???? What's to THINK about it! Get the *&#%$ job done!

You feel okay? The “source” itself is suspect.

Or have you become a fan of AJ?

The pakistan Army cannot really want to win.

There is no other explanation, similar to our non secure Southern border.

If the US really wanted to close the border, it might take all of a week or two to do so, and if the Pakis really wanted to end the problems in the territories they would do so, unless someone here is stating that this nuclear power is so feckless that they cannot sweep aside a few thousand tribesmen with AK47s.

If that is the reality, then India certainly has little to worry about with them.

And then, perhaps we should go in and take care of business.

You clearly have no understanding whatsoever regarding the Pak border regions. They have been autonomous from any centralized Gov't for centuries......A few thousand? With all due respect you simply know nothing regarding the region, the people there, the landscape, some of the most rugged terrain on earth from snow capped Mtns to flush forests to deserts......

You clearly have no understanding ...

Actually, I do know quite a bit about it.
You clearly do not know that I do.

Irrespective of terrain and history, it is what it is.
Stripped of the emotional phraseology, it is primitives with simple weapons and simple tactics using the local rugged terrain as cover.
Nothing new there. Been going on since the dawn of Man.

Takes the guts and determination to go in and do to them what they do to you. Period.

Irrespective of terrain and history

Two incredible important variables anyone who's going to war (or looking to take action against) would never think as merely irrespective....

Try 20 million + Pashtuns who are the largest and oldest tribe on earth today -

Try KISS is exactly how you stay effective in war. Staying within your enemies OODA loop. Complex gets you dead....real quick in those regions of the world.

No, it is obvious you know very little about the region, even less about trying to run operations in such areas, let alone sustained operations....Reality is, it is abundantly clear you have absolutely no clue regarding the difficulties of the "local terrain"....nor of trying to operate within it.

Your early suggestion that if the Pak's can't be effective within these border regions....They would be even less effective Vs India is complete foolishness in terms of warfare and logic. Apples and Oranges....between the two conflicts that would unfold.
