Born and lived in Texas all my life. I cannot bring myself to try boiled peanuts. Reading here that they are mushy only reinforces my feelings that this is disgusting!

Peanuts used to be the largest crop in this area and are still one of the largest. Nothing smells better than roasted, salted peanuts right out of the oven.

I have lived in Texas all my life also. I had never even heard of boiled peanuts untill I saw a thread on them here a few months back. Guess I’d give them a try if I saw them though.

Agree with you on the roasted (in the shell) and salted.
