Mine used to bring the snakes inside the house and drop them on the floor, still alive.
None were poisonous, but I still think their motives were suspect.

Yeah, one of my cats likes to lay on its back and play with snakes, tossing them around like big fat yarn. He leaves them on the front porch all clawed, dazed, and confused, but usually not completely dead.
