LANSING, Mich. (AP) The Legislature and Gov. Jennifer Granholm early Wednesday finished a budget deal to fund Michigan's government, ending a nine-month fight over tax increases and spending cuts that briefly caused a government shutdown along the way.
The final agreement came a month after Granholm and lawmakers passed $1.3 billion in tax increases and gave themselves an extra 30 days to resolve the spending plan.
