I just saw the police chief on TV saying that the proliferation of guns on the streets was the reason these policemen were shot.

You have got to be kidding me. In this particular situtaion, even a blithering idiot like Sly "Muhamed" Johnson wouldn't say something like that.

Unless something's changed since I left for work, they were reporting that the shooter wrestled the cop's gun away.
