Mainly it's just scumbags shooting up other scumbags, but unfortunately, sometimes our LEOs get caught up in this.

The only factor I can see that's different from the past is the dramatic influx of mexicans the last two years. Not that they're involved, it's probably too expensive for many of them to buy guns... yet.

Probably has more to do with unskilled young males not having the jobs washing dishes and windows. Idle hands.

Since Street took over as Mayor the city has gone downhill. As much as I dislike Slick Eddie Rendell, everything that was accomplished during his reign has been undone and then some. The murder rate in Philly rivals anywhere. The only thing Street is concerned about is lining his own pockets. Oh wait and the pockets of his relatives. He always was pathetic. I still cant believe people were stupid enough to make him mayor. Everything is coming to fruition under Street. The sad thing is that the people in Philly wont see it, and stand by the bozo. The gangs? Yeah that would be the Street gang.
