...K-12 public schools would get an average increase of 1 percent in per-pupil aid, with poorer districts receiving more for each student than wealthier districts.

Other bills would give 1 percent more to universities and community colleges and fund departments overseeing state parks, prisons, courts, agriculture, road construction and the environment. ..

Notice they say INCREASE. This is so ridiculous! They keep calling it "CUTS", when in reality, lots of them would not necessarily be cuts, but just a lack of an increase.

Keep reading- they’re going to cut $431,000 from the Veteran’s Homes, but still allow Medicaid to cover parents who have custody of their Medicaid-funded children. All those single moms with custody of their kids can get Medicaid, but other adults can’t, and Veterans lose their funding.

“United Auto Workers Local 6000 President Sandra Parker, whose union represents many DHS employees, said turning the department’s responsibilities over to private providers wouldn’t save money because the state still would have to supervise the children being adopted or those in juvenile justice facilities.”

My reaction would be “stick it UAW.” They are the cause of all this, and now they are objecting to the solution.

Michigan is a crap hole due to the cluelessness of Granholm and her democratic cronies. Raising taxes always solves the problem, right? There’s no chance that basic economics or history shows anything else, is there? Maybe in Canada, not in Michigan. Where I work, we can’t hire qualified people, they’ve all left.

Last one out of Michigan, turn out the lights. Get ready for more budget problems because the $400 million that was supposed to be cut along with the tax increase won’t be. All those aholes are doing is reducing spending which is not the same as cutting spending.

If I stay long enough, I should be able to buy Michigan for a fire sale price.

I feel sorry for all the rest of the idiots who stay here like I do.

I’ve been trying to get the phone # of Jeff Daniels so I can tell him to STFU.

His “come to Michigan” commercials are on just about every 30 minutes, and now they’re nothing more than a joke.
