WEST FORT HOOD Capt. Manuel R. Ramirez loves Halloween.
It was only fitting that the company commander returned to Fort Hood from a 15-month deployment to Iraq on Oct. 31. He missed last Halloween, but Ramirez got home just in time to celebrate with his family: wife, Helen; 5-year-old son, Gabriel; and 18-month-old daughter, Aurora. Ramirez is commander of the 504th Military Intelligence Brigade's Headquarters Support Company, 303rd Military Intelligence Battalion.
Ramirez was one of more than 400 soldiers from the 504th Military Intelligence Brigade and 20th Engineer Battalion who returned to Central Texas. Half arrived late in the morning and the other half later that afternoon.
One of them was the military intelligence brigade commander, Col. Keith Geiger. The soldiers collected intelligence for Multinational Corps-Iraq, he said. The soldiers were spread over 35 forward operating bases in Iraq.

PING!!!!
As far as I am concerned, your husband and Captain Ramirez and all the troops really are superheroes and can do all the trick or treating they want in uniform anytime. Welcome home, good job.
Coming Home Ping
Opps! My hubby missed out on this deployment, we got here a month after they left (and he’s currently non-deployable due to injury from his last deployment). However, I’m such a softie that I get all teary over the return of soldiers I don’t even know! LOL
It’s the only time that my hubby spends an entire week working extra long days, and I don’t mind, since it means that other spouses are getting their soldiers back! :)
1ST Cav also out of FT Hood is due home before Christmas after a 15 month deployment. It’s been a looooooong 15 months. I baked a lot of cookies.
Hoooah! Welcome home, heroes!
Thank you for the ping!

((HUGS))Morning, Beach. How's it going?
Go glad they are back Cailleach. (((Hugs)))
Oh Oh! Correction to my comment on not knowing any of these soldiers!!! The dear hubby sprung a surprise on me! Someone from our last duty station also came here, and is with these guys!!! Hubby told me last night that his plane should land today (actually by now, it’s already landed)!
This time next year when my hubby’s soldiers and the rest of our guys and gals come home we will have a super freep cyber party, and I’ll bring pictures...because I know those soldiers and wouldn’t feel odd going to the gym to see them return.
Oh happy day! Must go and tidy up the house! We will probably have company this weekend! Goodness...when we last saw him, hubby was a rank younger than he is now (teehee he outranks our friend now) and we weren’t even thinking about babies...and now...we have a 5 week old baby to show off! Oh how I love homecomings!!!
