I assume this will be enough to get his nomination out of the committee on to the full Senate for a vote. If the whole Senate is able to vote I would guess he would be confirmed.

Too bad.

If the democRats had killed the Mukasey nomination after Chuckie had recommended him as a consensus nominee, then Bush could have told the democRats go to hell and recess appointed Ted Olson.

Dianne Feinstein has been acting rationally for over a week. She voted to get a judge out of committee, saying it’s time to stop the left/right bickering, defended the efforts in California fire fighting (unlike Boxer and the Lt. Gov.) and now, this. I like it, but still find myself wondering why.....

I guess Schumer and Feinstein can’t afford to lose their (liberal) jewish voters.
Although Musasey is Republican and an Orthodox Jew, even liberal jewish outlets embrace him.

DiFi is one of the most corrupt senators in American history and will do nothing to create a wave as she hides.

She was already booted off as chair of her committee for giving Billions in no-bid contracts to family members - she is actually worse the Halliburton but, given a free pass by the press as long as she is quiet.

I think you nailed it. She must know they have the dirt on her so she’s trying to play nice and make no waves. Sorry DiFi, your dirty and it’s time to go.

What with the original “water board” torcherer, commonly called the “swimmer” Kennedy and that dick, Durbin, along with Leaky Leahy voting against Mukasey, this is good news.

Has DiFi moved 1/2 mm to the right since she had that cozy flight on Air Force One with Bush going to Kalifornia to see the wild fires? After the flight, she basically said, gee, Bush isn’t quite as big Dumbass as I thought. In fact, he knows a lot of sh!t!

My guess was this was all a show for the moonbats.

They know they can’t block this guy over waterboarding. The fact is, when guys like that Khalid Sheik Mohammad who cut off Danny Pearl’s head can’t be waterboarded for important info, well, they are going to lose votes over that from normal America.

So they put on this great grandstanding that they just won’t vote for the guy, and then get Feinstein and Schumer, both safe seats, to “spoil their plans”. It’s an act.

I knew the Dems wouldn’t stop the nomination. It would be pounded to death in the general election, that the Dems were putting national security in peril.
