Mike Huckabee: "Well, I think we have to look at culture change. Government cannot mandate health habits. People would resist and reject that, and it would be a disaster. What government can do is to try to create situations in which the incentives are there for people to take better care of themselves, not only for the obvious reasons that you feel better and look better, but that there would be financial incentives."

Does he have any “heavy-hitters” on his campaign team or are they all amateurs?
BTW, does anyone know why he’s never gotten that front tooth fixed? A PR guy told me that that could cost him 4-5 percentage points.

I want to like the guy, but he’s a global-warmist nanny-state socialist, and that’s a problem for me.

But we had Supreme Court orders that told us we had to spend more money on education.Okay. Add "coward" to the list of problems with Huckabee.
A real man would have said, "It's nice that a co-equal branch of government, the judiciary, wants more spending but I don't believe that mandating spending is part of the court's job description and so I therefore intend to ignore the Supreme Court."

Truly, one of the most disturbing things to happen on the Republican side of this Presidential race in the last couple of months is for Mike Huckabee to rise from his normal 3-4 percent to perhaps 10 percent in the polls. I had expected Fred Thompson to do the rising in that time. Methinks the left wing media is boosting this huckster (yes, pun intended) in order to sap the strength of Thompson.
It would sure help if those damned "values voters" suckers would get in line, rather than chase after this fragile little butterfly...
