BAGHDAD - Police found the bodies of six victims of sectarian violence dumped in three Iraqi cities Friday. There were no reported shootings or bombings, and it was only the second day this year that the sectarian death toll fell below 10, according to an Associated Press count.

Ping: Thank God for Bush because Reid and Pelosi nearly brought us a huge strategic blunder.

Even the MSM cannot hide the changes anymore or fail to report the obvious.

how is a ‘sectarian killing’
differentiated from a
generic murder?

I'll just be content to pray for the safety of our sons and daughters, our heroes in Iraq to return home safely and soon.

By motive. If someone is killed because he’s a Shia, that’s sectarian. If someone is killed because you’re mad at him, want his car, want his wife, want his house, etc., that’s plain old murder.

I know what elhombrelibre means by "gloating."

There have been a lot of naysayers here on FR over the last few years, perpetrating the leftie "quagmire" line and saying that this was hopeless and would never work. I've tangled with many of them myself and some have been quite rude and obnoxious.

I wish I remembered who they were now, because I wouldn't mind tweaking them a little bit.

Note the “rare” in the headline—even when reporting something like this, it’s like they’re saying “We’re only reporting this because good news in Iraq hardly ever happens.”

Why? 10 killings on their "best" day works out to be more than twice the US murder rate. On average, the killings there (pop. 27M) seem to far exceed the number of murders here (pop. 300M).

Or should we gloat about removing a secular dictator and replacing him with a puppet government (hardcore muslim gov't.) apparently full of former terrorists who "rule" over a disfunctional region that once was a nation?

Gloat about all the non-existent weapons of mass destruction we found?

Gloat about the destruction of what was once one of the muslime world's largest Christian communities?

Gloat about the destruction of the iraqi middle class?

Gloat about the up-to 2 million iraqi dead?

Gloat about the 2 million who've fled iraq, or the 2 million internally-displaced?

Gloat about 100s of billions of tax dollars wasted there?

Gloat about 1000s of American dead and 10s or 100s of thousands wounded?

Gloat about being loved so much by the people we liberated that our embassy is a billion-dollar fortress staffed by people who have to be forced to serve there?

Gloat about the fact that after a period of time longer than this nation's participation in WW2 passing since "mission accomplished", we have to maintain an occupying army (soldiers and mercs) of several 100s of thousands just to keep iraq from disintegrating?

Tell you what... you gloat, I'll mourn.

Joe you have got to chill man. Secular dictator?

You have the luxury of being misguided. As Daniel Patrick Moynahan once said 'you have the right to your opinion but you do not have the right to your own facts!'

BTW mourn for whom?

Gloat about the up-to 2 million iraqi dead?

Joe,

Take this bullshit, fictitious statistic over to DU where they not only agree with it, but believe it is way too low.

You've been around for 7 years yet can't seem to deal with facts, so you invent your own.

Say hello to my little Pussycat.

Well once again you simply are making up “facts” about Iraq that exist NO where in reality.

So are you merely this ignorant or are you knowing lying? Are you a fool or a fraud?
