This is kind of silly.
The diplomatic service and State needed to be cleaned out a long time ago. Bush neglected it.
But many of these jobs can't just be filled by any wounded vet either.
This ain't gonna happen. Period.

"This is kind of silly." I agree, it comes off as a cheap political stunt. There's no law that prevents veterans from applying for jobs in the federal government. I've never attended a job fair on a military installation where the feds weren't represented.

I disagree. It is rather brilliant, not easy to do but a political coup none the less.
They just need the smart ones that can be trained, and there is enough wounded that you will be able to find the skill sets you need to build those diplomats and training programs.
