Why couldn’t he have found out about this before he became associated with the guy?

I agree. If could very well be that Fred did not know of this guy’s past. However, this does not look good and I am sure Fred will address it quickly. Wouldn’t surprise me if Tim Russert asks him about this tomorrow during Fred’s interview on Meet The Press.

I disagree. It’s a problem if you CANDIDATE pled guilty to cocaine 23 years ago.

But it’s not a problem if a person who has been clean for over 20 years is a CONTRIBUTER to your campaign. We WANT people to reform, to go back to the straight and narrow, and having done so, to participate in democracy.

He shouldn’t be an advisor, but if he’s clean and the money he has earned and is raising is legit, who cares what he did 24 years ago?

Hmmm. Barak Obama has publicly admitted using an illegal substance. And, of course, he had to purchase the substance before he used it, so that's 2 sins. He seems to be weathering that much more recent faux pas very well. And look at all of the people who associate with him! There's no cloud over them. Hillary has her thief Sandy Burglar. No cloud over her, amongst the Dems, anyway.
