I expected more from Fred as well, but we have to remember the bottom line, and it’s not Fred, Mitt or Rudy. It’s keeping Hillary out.

This is the third of four weeks that I’m missing the sunday talk show thread; off on another business trip then up to VA to care for my mother who just had her knee replaced. I’m lurking when I can but not able to post except for this quick note.

I’ll lurk and return as a poster week after next.

As always, thanks Anita for the media nuggets — always one of my fav to read.

Have a good couple of weeks all. See you on the 18th.

I understand but I’d rather have someone to support, as opposed to choosing the lesser of two evils.

I hope our candidate will commit to enforce the laws, whether it’s the illegal alien issue or congressional members breaking the law. Add in lower taxes and less government regulations and I’d be a happy camper.

The primary elections are still about two months away, and as we know, the dynamics of a primary election can change on a dime. Remember, Howard Dean led in the polls up until a couple of weeks before the Iowa caucuses in ‘04.

Right now you have a lot of people dissatisfied with the top five candidates. Fred had a chance to capitalize on this void but seems to be fading. Huckabee seemed to get a bump but his support seems very shallow and he has his own liberal leanings.

So who’s left? Hunter, perhaps? About the only thing holding him back is money and name recognition. Those who know him mostly love what he has to bring. But he’s the only one (outside perhaps Tancredo) with a track record of being solidly anti-amnesty and pro-border enforcement, and as we all know that is the crucial issue today.

Here is what I worry about with Fred. He doesn’t look well. He just has a sickly older man look about him. I like him but maybe it was the lymphoma and treatment, he just looks bad.
